Centralized Carrier Delivery - Sustainabilty & Safety

To reduce the amount of large, heavy trucks traversing our dense campus and improve our community safety, Receiving serves as the central delivery point for all package and freight carriers such as:  UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL, Amazon, OnTrac, SAIA, Old Dominion, Navajo Express, CSA Transportation, ABF Freight, ArcBest, and many, many more.

Carrier Delivery & Processing Times

Carriers deliver throughout the day at different times.  You may receive “Delivered” notifications from these carriers.  Please allow us time to process and deliver those items to the campus.

All overnight or priority packages are received from the major carriers in the morning and are typically delivered to the departments by noon.  Perishable packages are received throughout the day and are either delivered same day or contact is made with the receiver.  All other ground shipments and freight is usually delivered within 24-48 hours depending on volume.

Campus Delivery Codes & Delivery Locations

Receiving delivers to dedicated consolidated delivery locations throughout campus and are defined by Campus Delivery Codes.  It is imperative that you use the correct delivery location for your department when creating shipments or providing your address to your vendor/sender.

Student Packages - Contact University Housing

All packages destined for a Residence Hall or campus apartment is facilitated by University Housing and is not received at our facility.  Please contact them for any questions regarding packages sent to students.

Did you know you can track your package after it has been delivered to CSU?

At CSU, we employ an advanced package tracking system to internally monitor the entire journey of all incoming shipments, from delivery to us by the carrier (UPS, FedEx, DHL, Amazon, OnTrac, and Freight Carriers) to initial processing, and through to their ultimate delivery destination. Utilize this cutting-edge tool for tracking the progress of your shipment while it is at CSU.

Request a Hold, Change Delivery Location, or Refuse a Shipment

Need to pick up your shipment at our facility, change it's destination, or ask us to refuse a shipment? We can do that!

Provided you have a tracking #, we can hold most shipments for a short period of time at our facility to allow you to pick up the package in person.  We can also re-direct misaddressed shipments, or refuse a delivery for you.

This covers CSU business related shipments only.  NO STUDENT PACKAGES ARE RECEIVED AT OUR FACILITY.  Students should contact University Housing for information regarding their shipments.

Colorado State Law & University Policy Does Not Allow For Personal Packages to be Received at Central Receiving

Following State Law and University guidelines, the University will not deliver personal packages (such as alcoholic beverages, and flowers) received at the Departments of Central Receiving.  Packages that are obviously personal purchases will be held at Central Receiving for pickup by recipient.

As University business allows, notification will be attempted to the individual listed on the package label up to three times before the package is returned to sender as undeliverable.  Hold requests may be made via the button below.  The holding of packages is for intermittent packages only, and shall not be relied on as a usual service or benefit provided by the Departments of Central Receiving.  All packages are held at the discretion of the Shipping & Receiving Manager, and CSU assumes no liability for personal packages received by Central Receiving.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

We can deliver most items that arrive on a pallet and are delivered by freight carriers.  Some shipments exceed the height of our delivery vehicles, or may pose hazards to our delivery drivers.  In these cases, we refer you to Facilities Management’s Remodel and Construction Services (RCS) Labor Crew who can facilitate moving your over-sized shipment.  Please note that this a Fee-For-Service and you will need to provide them with a Kuali Account # for billing.

Visit RCS Website

The space available in Central Receiving is extremely limited, and we are required to move shipments out as fast as possible to ensure we have room to receive the daily shipment levels.  Therefore, we are not typically able to hold shipments for more than 24 hours.

Our Warehouse Services department offers short and long term storage and may be able to accommodate such requests.  Please contact them for a quote on storage services.

Due to security concerns, we do not publish the exact delivery locations where we place packages and freight.  Please contact your Building Proctor to find out where the packages and freight is delivered to the building you are in.
